Make the Most Out of Group Travel

Traveling with a guided group is a great way to see the sights. It lets others take care of the details while you concentrate on enjoying yourself. Kish Travel Specialists recommend the following for group travel:

  • group-tripsGroup trips can be successful if you remember to use the tour company's expertise. Make sure you check the day-by-day itinerary. Your guides have done careful planning because they are the experts in the locale. Don't, however, hesitate to ask for a little more time at a location that really interests you. Others in your group may be happy you asked for 15 more minutes at an interesting sight.
  • Always speak up and ask your guide questions. Often, the tour director has visited the area many times before, but may not always share all his/her information. Asking a question may spark a whole new conversation filled with interesting facts. Talk to your fellow tour members. Some may be familiar with the sight you are visiting. It's a great way to get to know your surroundings and make new friends.
  • Compromise on some aspects of your tour. If you are not sure whether you want to visit a certain place along the way, take a breath and go. You'll often be pleasantly surprised at what you find. On the other hand, if you feel you truly need a break, let your guide know ahead of time and work out a way to meet up with the group at a later point. Take advantage of the knowledge and friendliness of the tour guide and participants to make your adventure more enjoyable.
